a few years ago while living in San Francisco, i remember a coworker Patrick showing me something really cool.
"man, if i could code, i think that's all i would do all day" i said. Patrick laughed.
fast forward a few years, i did learn and it is as addicting as i thought it would be.
but more so than addicting, it's empowering. you can build anything with your bare hands, no $$, and most importantly, no permission.
is coding the best use of my time? not always. perhaps not often. but it allows me to explore ideas rapidly and cheaply. and that's a luxury i would otherwise pay a lot of money to experience.
